“Serve Through Love”
Mother Charitable Foundation is an act of true love. It is the same love that Saint Mother Teresa had for the lepers in Calcutta in 1946. It all commenced in 2011 with the passion of a single person that has taken root and grown to a huge redwood within a decade.
Mother Charitable Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental charity initiative that aims to create an accessible environment for the disadvantaged without discrimination based on ethnicity, caste, religion or other social stratification. Witnessing enormous blessings from our Heavenly Father, the foundation is on a mission to reach the five moralities of love, care, protection, nutrition and education.
Our service focuses on rural areas around the country, to reach those who are most in need but least likely to be helped. Children and adults with disabilities, the elderly, people living with HIV, cancer & thalassemia patients and those who have been socially ostracized are among our key beneficiaries.
The charity activism of Mother Charitable Foundation was legally registered in 2015 at the National Secretariat for Non-Governmental Organizations (L-152616) and National Council for Persons with Disabilities (MSEW/NSPD/2/10/R-203).
It also registered with the Department of Social Services Western Province by a special charter at the Department of Social Services (WP/SSD/C/DH/2017/02) and the Divisional Secretariat in Moratuwa (MOR/SOS/01/REG/139-2017).
The Five major Principles
Love
Mother Charitable Foundation believe in love and our projects are based on love. An action filled with love changes everything, sadness to happiness, fear to confidence, anger to strength, discrimination to humanity. We serve the needy community with love. We give them the love which they aren’t receiving in their communities.
Care
In a world where abandonment is common, we open our hearts and hands because we believe caring and being cared for is an essential component for a happy, healthy, well-adjusted life. We care for those in the community who do not receive it and thus are most in need of it. We care for their physical, psychological and emotional needs without discrimination or favoritism.
Feeding
Satisfying the physical needs and the psychological needs of individuals, is crucial to a fruitful life. We endeavor to provide them with strength and enhanced capabilities by addressing the physical needs and also by fulfilling their emotional and physiological needs.
Protection
We strive to protect and enhance the physical, emotional, psychological wellbeing of everyone; especially the disadvantaged communities in Sri Lanka. We protect their rights and provide them with a secure environment, while focusing on educating the community at large to create a better society.
Education
Mother Charitable Foundation believes everyone has the right to education. One of our services is to educate the community so they might see the world from a positive perspective through learning. Enabling equal access to education is one of our primary concerns.

Our Dream
Our new project is to build a home for the poor and needy in Sri Lanka who are not welcome under any roof. They are neglected, discriminated and rejected by the society.
